In smaller games, might be able to cut off the most Inland lands from Explore actions by Destroying Inland / and stopping new ones from being built. Causes a fair bit of Fear, much of which represents unpleasantness, hardship, and disgust.

Put 2 Presence on your starting board, in the lowest-numbered Wetland. You start with your 4 Unique Power Cards and 0 Energy.

Growth: Option 2 (place 2 presence, 1 plays + 1 energy, both adjacent for Sacred Site). Create Sacred Site adjacent to big inland problem. Cards: Open Shifting Waterways (gather 2 Dahan, 1 damage), Foul Vapors (push Explorer to stop Build). Level 2 innate damages Town, Waterways finishes it. Dahan positioned for Ravage counterattack.
Growth: Option 2 (place 2 presence from energy for 3 energy/turn). Spread toward problems. Cards: Intractable Thickets (Defend 5), Exaltation of Tangled Growth (target self, pay 1 for Major). Defend 5 + 2 Dahan destroys City+Explorer. Draw Major in Slow phase (Pillar of Living Flame or Jungle Hungers ideal).
Growth: Option 3 (gain Minor, +2 energy, place presence from energy). Draw Lure of the Unknown. Cards: Pillar of Living Flame (targets consolidated City), Lure (cleanup). Pillar destroys City, generates Fear for Terror Level 2. Victory!
